Short Visit To Canada

With my mother so sick in the hospital, I have had to make plans to fly to Canada. I am scheduled to land at Montreal, Trudeau airport on April 2 at 5:50PM on Air Canada flight 0865. My departure is on April 11 at 7:45PM.

Thank you for praying with us, for my Mom. God bless.

Lizard Stowaway

The road to Kakamega is always interesting. The potholes cover most of the road like the aftermath of an explosion in a pizza factory. Drivers wander across into our lane to avoid their potholes… and cattle, dogs, and goats add to the challenge of driving.

Then there was the 6-inch lizard. He decided to crawl up the inside of the windshield at a crucial moment…

It was time to wind down after 8 days and 26 hours of teaching. The lessons were fun, and I received a note from one student that I will treasure: “…because of our classes I have never loved Jesus more…”.

And the planning. A group of church leaders will be coming in April 11 and 12; and 250 youth will come with 50 leaders at the end of April. I will be speaking then. Thursday we will be seeing Sherry again…

So, with such numbers, what is one more, even if it is a lizard?

God bless.

Dancing in the Streets

They are dancing in the streets! The mood is jubilant! A peace accord has been signed, and things are returning to normal.

Except for some. Like the lady I saw in Kisumu this week. She was gently unfolding used clothes she would sell…her only means of income. Her husband is from another tribe and had to flee. She can’t join him, and he is afraid to return here.

Or the shiny, new cars parked in a hotel parking lot. They were brought there for protection before the owners fled to a safer place. They still haven’t returned.

Or the Bible-study extension class I teach in Kapsabet. Some of the class left in a hurry, and haven’t returned.

On the positive side, I like the attitude of a friend of mine who is a security guard. His partner ran for his life in December, and my friend has been on duty 24/7 ever since. He is glad for peace.

So are we. God bless.
